Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam delivered the Budget Speech for the Financial Year 2014 Budget on 21 February 2014. Details of Budget 2014 can be found here.
Budget 2014 will provide strong support for companies investing in innovation and productivity. We will promote wider adoption of high-impact productivity solutions, including ICT. We will also help enterprises grow and internationalise. Detailed Measures for Businesses can be found here.
Budget 2014 takes forward our major social strategies to build a fair and equitable society - supporting social mobility and building a strong and sustainable social safety net. We will also give recognition to our Pioneer Generation through a special package. Detailed Measures for Households can be found here.
The Pioneer Generation Package honours the unique generation of Singaporeans who built up the country. It will give the Pioneer Generation peace of mind on their healthcare expenses, and help their family members free up resources for other needs.
The PIC scheme will be extended for three years until YA 2018. A “PIC+” scheme will help SMEs that are making substantial investments to revamp their businesses.
This Budget will provide additional support, especially for the lower-income group and retirees, to help them with their costs of living.
