What is the Budget Challenge 2011?
Budget Challenge 2011 aims to allow participants to appreciate the cut-and-thrust of debate with exposure to public policy and financing issues, and parliamentary procedures.
Two rounds of debate were held at the Parliament House. The Preliminary round took place on 28 January (two sessions, 10am-12pm and 2.30-4.30pm). After an exciting debate, the following five teams advanced to the Finals: Anglo-Chinese Junior College, Hwa Chong Institution (College), Nanyang Junior College, Raffles Institution (Junior College) and Victoria Junior College.
The Finals took place on 16 February (9.00am). The theme for the Finals was: ‘Reinforcing Singapore as a Top Liveable City.’
Take a look at the teams’ proposals on MOF’s Facebook . Comments on the Budget Challenge discussion page up till 23 February 2011 will stand a chance to win prizes. We have 10 vouchers to give away, so join in the debate now!
